The Northern Alliance Youth of the Arts program, was founded by Darwin Eagleton in 2003, is a Non-Profit 501(C)3 Corporation based out of Portland, Oregon, and the SW Washington area. Northern Alliance has been a member of Winter Guard International (WGI) since 2004.
In its first annual season using three area high schools. The group competed in the Northwest Marching Band Circuit in every season as a Independent Drumline placing first in their division at three of the local Winter Drumline shows.
All members are young adults between 12 to 45 years of age.
Mission Statement
Music and the performing arts connect youth with their culture through a common language crossing generational, social, and racial barriers. The activity that any person pursues influences the type of person he or she becomes. The experience that comes with participation in a performing arts organization builds discipline, character, pride, and self-confidence at a crucial age and forms the springboard to even greater achievements in adulthood.
The Northern Alliance Percussion performing arts programs permanently enrich the lives of young people through a commitment to youth development and performance excellence while providing enjoyment for our local communities.
The group has a very talented staff every year, and with a few additions this year they hope to see great changes ahead for the 2009 winter season.
The staff is devoted to providing the performers of our program a healthy and safe environment which allows them to enhance their social skills,communication capabilities,a sense of responsibility and commitment, and discipline. These are the primary lessons the staff of The Northern Alliance Percussion wish to instill in the members of our organization.
We are a Non-Profit Youth Group, that hopes to help schools and young adults in and around our communities. Our mission is to help those who want to continue on with the Marching Percussion activity after High school or during the High school years.
We are also trying to help continue the growth of the Music and the Performing Arts within our community.Our goal is to help enrich the kids of our community and to help build stronger Marching Bands and Drum Corps programs in our area.
